BBQ Dinner, Lantern Release and Parade Set for Memorial Day Weekend 2019

The end of May is a special time for all of us at Ferncliff Cemetery. In 2019 we welcome families to visit and decorate loved ones’ graves and mausoleums, enjoy a BBQ dinner, take part in a Lantern Remembrance Service and watch the Clark County Memorial Day Parade.

Reservations are required for Sunday’s dinner, service and lantern release, because space is limited. Make your reservations by calling 937.322.3491 today.

Special events on Sunday, May 26, 2019 include:

8:00-8:30 PM

Check-in, lantern distribution and complimentary dinner provided by Rudy’s BBQ (you must have a reservation; gates close to the public at 7:00 PM).

8:45-9:10 PM

Remembrance with Pastor Kevin Moehn of New Hope Church, Springfield.

9:10 PM

Floating lantern release.

On Monday, May 27, the Clark County Memorial Day Parade, which starts at 9:00 am at Veterans Park, will end at Ferncliff, at the lower Plum St. gate across from Cliff Park.

A Veterans’ Honor Service will follow at the Ferncliff War Memorial Plaza, near our WWII section. Please come pay tribute to our veterans, and those who gave their lives to protect our freedoms.

From Friday through Monday, gates are open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
