Gammon House – Tues. August 28 at 5:30 pm
Also buried here at Ferncliff are George (1803 – 1904) and Sarah (1808 – 1902) Gammon, leaders in the Springfield Underground Railroad movement. The Gammon House is one of only three Ohio “stops” on the Underground Railroad owned by a free person of color. Mr. Dale Henry, President of Gammon House, Inc. will be presenting stories of George and Sarah and the movement itself. Following the presentation in the Ferncliff Chapel, we will visit George and Sarah’s graves located in Section F.
