Memorial Weekend Floating Lantern Remembrance Service

The Lantern Remembrance Service is a time to enjoy fellowship, celebrate life, and remember the passing of those we have lost in the last year. The lower (south) entrance near Snyder Park will open at 7:30 pm. Registration begins at 8:00 pm. with a picnic catered by Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken.  A short Remembrance Service starts at 8:45, lead by US Air Force Chaplain, Major Joseph A. Branch.  Each family will receive a paper lantern which can be decorated with pictures or messages, which will be lit and launched on the pond at approximately 9:10 pm.  There will be a raffle for great prizes for both kids and adults.  So grab a blanket or lawn chair, gather your family, and come for a special evening together.
