Russell O. Stocke

STOCKE, Russell O. age 83 of Springfield, Ohio passed peacefully November 20, 2018 at his residence with his family by his side. Born May 19, 1935 in Duluth, Minnesota.

Russell was the son of the late Oscar and Josephine (Pederson) Stocke and was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He enjoyed attending family activities and athletic events. Russell was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church. He was a member of Kiwanis and the Masonic Lodge. Russ volunteered much of his time at the Salvation Army, tutoring in the schools, at the Rainbow Table, and visiting fellow church members in area nursing homes. He was an active member of the YMCA and an avid golfer.

Russell proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Russell leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years Joanne (Kauppila); son Randy (Cheryl) Stocke of Elida, Ohio; daughters Julie (Andy) Lohrer of Springfield, Ohio and Valerie (George) Usner of Grove City, Ohio; brother Vernon (Karen) Stocke of Duluth, Minnesota; grandchildren David (Suprena), Kristen (David), Megan (Chris), Ryan, Dustin, Shane, Joe, Kyle, 7 great-grandchildren, Niece and Nephews.

Visitation for Family & friends will be Friday, November 23, 2018 from 10:30am until Noon with memorial service to follow at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church 1801 St. Paris Pike, Springfield, Ohio 45504.

Internment will take place at Ferncliff Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Russ’s memory to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, or to a charity of donor’s choice. Arrangements in care of Ferncliff Funeral Home.
