Rudy the dog, known as “RU-RU,” passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 following a brief illness. He was born on January 26, 2009 in Washington state and arrived at his home in Springfield, Ohio, in style, aboard an airplane.

He was a Labradoodle who was loved dearly and who retired from playing ball some time ago. In retirement, Rudy kept watch over the neighborhood from the front window of his home, enjoyed rides in the car, was an avid Buckeyes fan, and loved his toy, Mr. Whale. Rudy’s family celebrated his birthday with him every year.

In addition to Mr. Whale, he leaves behind his best friend Chester the dog at home and his human family: Shannan, Mom Sandy, Chloe, Max and Shane.

Rudy will be laid to rest in Ferncliff Pet Cemetery at Ferncliff Cemetery and Arboretum in Springfield, Ohio.
