Introducing the Ferncliff Foundation
Ferncliff is happy to announce a new chapter in the 160-year journey of the Cemetery and Arboretum. Ferncliff has moved forward with establishing a new non-profit corporation, the Ferncliff Foundation.
The Foundation will be dedicated to preserving the legacy of our beautiful, historic grounds and enhancing our service to our community. At the heart of our mission lies a profound commitment to preserve the rich history and cultural heritage of our cemetery and arboretum.
Funds will be allocated toward educational programs, tours and educational opportunities. More specifically:
- To preserve, develop, maintain, and enhance the aesthetic historic, and educational, features within Ferncliff Cemetery and Arboretum, including its buildings, gardens, and landscape; to honor the final resting places for loved ones; and afford a reflective welcoming space for the entire community;
- To promote educational programming and activities in a setting of natural beauty that connects the community with history and nature;
- To provide tours, events, workshops, and related activities on topics such as arboriculture, horticulture, ornithology, and experimental programs for the natural sciences;
- To provide a viable learning and recreational environment in a setting that promotes community engagement.
The members of the Board of Directors of the Ferncliff Foundation are:
